Modules

Five parts. Replace
any of them on site.

No crane, no return to the factory. Every part is bolted, so every part can be swapped.

  1. 01
    Floats

    Floats

Unsinkable HDPE cells, never polyethylene foam or polystyrene. About 850 kg of buoyancy per 3 m × 1.5 m section.

    850kg

    buoyancy per section

  2. 02
    Aluminium frame

    Aluminium frame

Pre-formed and pre-drilled aluminium chassis. Extruded anywhere in the world and recoverable for re-melt at end of life.

    100%

    re-meltable aluminium

  3. 03
    FRP grating deck

    FRP grating deck

Non-slip FRP composite deck rated R 11 to R 13 (DIN 51130). Resists acid and alkaline water from pH 2 to 12.

    R 13

    non-slip, DIN 51130

  4. 04
    Stainless handrails

    Stainless handrails

FRP or stainless handrails up to 1220 mm high, with 316 stainless brackets and fasteners for extreme corrosion.

    1220mm

    max. handrail height

  5. 05
    Pivot couplers

    Pivot couplers

Pivot joints flex about 12° per section and 10° over a full 360°, so the walkway follows the dredger and the water.

What it carries

It carries what your
site already moves.

Five loads we carry every day, and three things we don't build.

Crews: Daily safe access, 1.5 m wide

Pumps: Penstock and pump platforms

Not what we build

  • Leisure marinas
  • Plastic cube docks
  • Pump barges

We say so before the quote, not after the order.

Assembly

Bolted together by
your own crew.

Pre-formed and pre-drilled. No welding, no specialist installer.

Local crew laying out Xrosswater sections on the bank in Sierra Leone

Iron ore mine, Sierra Leone / about 40 m per day

Local workforce

  1. 01

    Unpack the crate

Every fitting, fastener, jig and tool arrives in the crate with the sections.

  2. 02

    Bolt it together

Pre-drilled frames bolt together on the bank. No welding, no cutting.

  3. 03

    Float and join

Each section is floated and coupled to the next, about 25 minutes per 3 m section.

Accessories

Fits what you
already run.

Anchors, lights, de-icers and control panels mount straight onto the frame.

04  / Walkway designs

Three designs. One multi-configurable system.

Immensely strong, lightweight and very durable once assembled. Aluminium frames, stainless fittings, FRP handrails and HMWPE floats.

Technical x-ray render of the Xrosswater standard design walkwayOption 01

FRP & aluminium

Standard design

Best value for money: strong, lightweight, clean lines and fully pre-drilled for fast assembly. Aluminium can be extruded anywhere and keeps a re-melt value at end of life.

Technical x-ray render of the Xrosswater extreme design walkwayOption 02

FRP & stainless steel

Extreme design

For extreme corrosion, extreme climate and high theft risk. FRP/GRP grating with 316 stainless brackets, used at a 140 m gold mine in Ghana and at Florence Copper, Arizona.

Technical x-ray render of the Xrosswater folding high buoyancy pivot walkwayOption 03

Aluminium or FRP

Folding high buoyancy pivot

Over 3 m wide unfolded with double the buoyancy for pipes, cables and equipment. Folds to 2.5 m × 15 m to travel fully assembled on a normal flatbed truck.

Platform configuration

A walkway, pipe support, pump platform or work platform.

The patented design is multi-configurable. Sections join side to side or end to end to build the platform your site needs.

05  / Comparison

Industrial marine
vs
leisure marine

Is the walkway you are considering designed and fit for purpose? Leisure docks, drum pontoons and one-off steel jetties all end up on mine sites. Here is how they compare.
